How to take off old or failed PPF with less scraping
Old film that has cracked, yellowed or lifted is hard to remove cleanly. Heat and steam work, but they cost time and labour. PPF X is made to soften the adhesive bond on TPU, TPH and PVC films.
Routine
- Wash and dry the vehicle.
- Mask nearby trims, rubber and headlights.
- Apply an even, generous layer of PPF X over the film.
- Cover with a plastic sheet so the product does not dry out.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes depending on film age and thickness.
- Lift an edge with a plastic tool and peel slowly at a low angle.
Pro tip
The plastic cover is what makes the difference. It keeps the product wet and helps it work into the adhesive for a cleaner pull.
