GLUE X
How to remove PPF adhesive residue safely
Once paint protection film comes off, a thin layer of adhesive is usually left behind. Polishing over it smears the glue and ruins pads, so the residue has to go first.
What you need
- GLUE X adhesive remover
- Clean microfiber cloths
- A 3 inch wool pad for heavy build up
- Gloves and good ventilation
Step by step
- Check the panel is cool and free of loose grit.
- Spray GLUE X directly on the residue.
- Let it dwell for 2 to 3 minutes so the glue bond softens.
- Rub gently with a microfiber, or a wool pad on stubborn areas.
- Repeat on layered build up, then wipe clean.
- Check by touch that the surface is smooth and tack free.
Pro tip
Roll the softened glue away with a microfiber folded in quarters. Flip to a fresh side often so you lift the adhesive instead of smearing it.
Always wear gloves, avoid skin and eye contact and work in a ventilated space. See all Keramik products.
